Sea Kayaking over the Sunken City at Kekova
Price: £28.00
Prices are valid for pre-booking now, but may increase prior to the summer
Tuesday : 08:00 – 17:30
Paddle over the renowned Sunken City of Kekova at your own pace. The ancient city of Kekova was once joined to the mainland but following a series of earthquakes many centuries ago is now to be found six metres below the sea in an area that is designated as ‘off limits’ to swimmers.
This means that kayaking is the best way of exploring the site that includes underwater foundations, walls and mosaics dating back over two thousand years.
Lunch is taken in the rustic village of Simena with its hilltop castle that affords the most wonderful panoramic views across the entire region and is home to examples of Lycian, Roman, Byzantine, Mediaeval and Ottoman architectural influence.
The paddle back to the mainland village of Üçağiz is via partly submerged sarcophagi and cliff tombs.
Sea Kayaking is a fabulous manner to experience this stunning region.
