Exclusive Boutique Hotels Beyaz Yunus Faralya, Faralya, near Ölü Deniz, The Gulf of Göcek and Fethiye

In a forest clearing by the edge of the azure waters of the Mediterranean lie the seven deluxe rooms of Beyaz Yunus Faralya. It is a unique property, totally secluded and constructed ingeniously from the surrounding environment.

The peace is deafening, the light is remarkable and the result is a feeling of tranquillity and contentment.

When combined with the trekking and sea kayaking – both of which are included should you desire – you have the perfect retreat.

Beyaz Yunus Faralya is a fabulous hideawaytucked away in the most secluded of locations, 14 kilometres from the famous beach at Ölü Deniz. The dramatic coastal road follows the ‘Lycian Way’, one of the worlds most famous treks, climbing from Ölü Deniz to the village of Faralya. The village is perched on the mountainside overlooking Butterfly Valley, one of Turkey’s most stunning bays.

The road leads from here on into the forest where a turn down a bumpy track winds through the trees before coming to a really  breathtaking sight: a forest clearing is set directly on the water’s edge. Here the seven deluxe rooms of the ‘safari-like’ Oyster Residence Faralya are hidden, surrounded by nothing but the deep green of the forest and the azure waters of the
Mediterranean.

No matter how stunning the setting, it is the quality of the sound (or absence of it) and the light that has most impact – the resulting feeling of tranquillity is overwhelming.

Beyaz Yunus Faralya opened three years ago and has established a reputation within Istanbul as the perfect place to escape the pressures of modern-day life. A romantic hideaway that provides much, much more than just a comfortable retreat, Beyaz Yunus Faralya is a unique concept for tourism in Turkey.

Beyaz Yunus Faralya is a result of the owner Mehmet’s dream to present his country in a manner never previously attempted, and to attract guests that might not have looked to Turkey for this style and quality of holiday. These aims and philosophies coincide with our own, and we are both proud and delighted to feature this extraordinary property within our programme.

Mehmet also owns one of coastal Turkeys most well-reputed fish restaurants which used to be in nearby Ölü Deniz – Beyaz Yunus (White Dolphin) – and has now relocated to the remote island of Kizil Ada to make way for our fabulous new exclusive property: Beyaz Yunus Ölü Deniz. He is extremely well travelled and has combined his own ideas with those gathered from his travels to create a memorable environment in this wonderfully natural setting.

Beyaz Yunus Faralya is run by Yalçin and Leyla who are great lovers of the outdoor life and as such keen to share the attractions of the mountains and the sea with guests.

It is impossible not to unwind within minutes of arriving in this tranquil setting. Beyaz Yunus Faralya designed to suit those looking to relax completely and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding countryside. In addition, the location also provides many opportunities to explore the glorious mountain and coastal scenery. If you are so inclined, it is possible to fill every day of the week with an adventure.

Rooms
The property has just seven rooms, six of which are used by Exclusive Escapes, with the seventh kept for Turkish guests and very often Mehmet, the owner. The rooms are divided between three buildings hidden in the grounds. All are spacious and beautifully presented in a rustic yet comfortable style. Each has a private balcony with fabulous
views across the gardens and out to the sea and the forest beyond.

In keeping with the natural and traditional philosophy, Yalçin and Leyla are assisted by their team of local villagers. The service is informal, friendly and quite superb.
