Excursions & Car Hire
It would be a great shame to come to such a beautiful and diverse island without taking the time to appreciate its delights. We appreciate that guests may well be interested in exploring the local environment, but the idea of a typical ‘organized’ excursion does not fill them with enthusiasm.
Due to the excellent road infrastructure, we believe the island is ideally suited for exploration by car. To this end, for guests who do not have a vehicle included with their property, we highly recommend hiring a car for some stage of your stay in order to allow you to explore Cephalonia with complete independence.
Our assistants are more than happy to help you plan your exploration of the region. Please do feel free to utilise our local team’s knowledge and enthusiasm.

We work closely with local car hire companies to ensure we provide the best possible service and Have received excellent feedback to date from our guests. All our vehicles come with a map of Cephalonia, a torch, a basic first aid kit and a 24-hour emergency breakdown service.

Please note: We cannot confirm a specific car model within a group. All cars include air-conditioning and a radio and/or tape player. Jeeps are air-conditioned and open-top but have little room for luggage.
**Kindly note: These ‘exchange’ rates are lower than Turkey as the inclusive vehicle is not contracted with the property.
RENTAL PERIODS
Subject to availability rental can start on any day of the week. The minimum rental period is three days. For rental between 4–6 days, divide the 3-day figure by 3 and multiply by the required number of days. For rental above 7 days, divide the 7-day figure by 7 and proceed as before.
DELIVERY
All vehicles will be delivered by 10:00 and collected at approximately 18:00 (therefore 7 days rental = 6.5 days use etc).
DROP-OFF CHARGES
Vehicles will be delivered to your property and can be returned to your original coastal property or Cephalonia airport as you prefer, without additional charge.
INSURANCE
Our rates include unlimited mileage, insurance in compliance with Greek law, collision damage waiver and government tax. It is usual in Greece that this insurance does not include damage to lights, windscreens, and tyres with an excess insurance made available (and paid) locally to cover this.
Excess Waivers (to be paid locally)
A fee of 7 Euros (approximately £4.80) per day can be paid locally to reduce the ‘excess’ payment due in the case of an accident from the usual 300 Euros to 50 Euros.
We stress that no insurance in Greece covers damage to a vehicle undercarriage. We recommend that you check the vehicle carefully in the presence of the car hire agent. A credit card impression is taken as a deposit against accident charges at the outset of your rental.
DRIVERS
Drivers must be a minimum of 21 for cars and 25 for jeeps. Two drivers may be named per vehicle and must always travel with a full driving licence, passport and vehicle papers. Additional drivers can be added for a minimal cost (paid locally).
SAFETY
All vehicles have seat belts. The middle rear seat belt in a five-seat vehicle is a lap belt.
Child seats are available for a charge of £10 per rental. Please note these seats are of a ‘one size fits all’ design suitable for a child weighing up to 16kg – should you have any concerns we recommend you bring your own.
In the event of an accident it is important to obtain a police report. Should a car need to be repaired, a replacement will only be provided if and when available.
Driving is on the right hand side of the road and the infrastructure is generally good.

CANCELLATION
Should you decide to cancel your pre-booked car hire when in Cephalonia a two-day charge is applicable.
