Gulet Cruising
There is no better way to experience this truly amazing coastline than meandering past the forest-clad mountains, and exploring the hidden bays and inlets of this unforgettable area.
The majority of bays in this region are accessible only by sea and as such, our guests are often fortunate enough to have them completely to themselves.
Many remnants of Turkey’s rich heritage are to be found amongst these bays, with cultural sites scattered throughout the region. Your lazy cruise therefore provides the opportunity for complete relaxation
whilst at the same time allowing you to see a beautiful and culturally rich part of the world in a manner that few people are able to.
Meandering lazily along past the forest-clad mountains and exploring the multitude of hidden bays and inlets is an unforgettable way of experiencing the real beauty of ‘Hidden Turkey’. We can’t recommend it
highly enough!
A TURKISH GULET
The traditional Turkish gulet was originally used for fishing or cargo. Nowadays they are custom-built twin-masted ketches designed for a somewhat different purpose! Especially those of a higher specification such as those we feature.
It would be wrong to over-emphasise the luxury of a gulet; the idea is to provide a comfortable base from which to enjoy the stunning scenery whilst benefiting from the friendly and attentive onboard service provided by your crew. That said we like to think – and feedback from guests confirms this – that the Exclusive Escapes gulets are certainly well above the norm in terms of both quality and service.
THE CREW
The attentive and friendly crew are invariably the making of your gulet
holiday, on hand throughout the day and always keen to ensure you want for little.
FOOD & WINE ONBOARD - à la carte service
Food onboard our gulets has always been highly praised however our team are continually striving to improve our service. Having experimented with Seyhan Hanna in 2007 we are now delighted to present an à la carte service throughout our Gulet programme. Guests are presented with the days menu each morning with dishes prepared fresh that evening.
We have no doubt that you will build up an appetite when gulet cruising and will appreciate the fabulous food on offer.
The emphasis is firmly on fresh, simple and hearty fare, with fresh fish being offered several times a week. Please be sure to inform us of any special dietary requirements you may have, so the crew can prepare accordingly.
Dining Ashore
Our cruises are provided on a full board basis. However, should you wish to dine ashore one evening (payable locally) simply inform the Captain and he will make arrangements accordingly.
Whenever the gulet has been utilsied for individual cabin sales the itinerary will allow for one evening to be spent in a harbour mid-week when guests will be free to eat onboard in the harbour or explore the local restaurants (payable locally).
Bar Service & Complimentary Water
Complimentary bottled water is provided on all our gulets throughout the entire day. In addition, an onboard bar service is provided, with rates that are more than reasonable and are linked to those of our onshore properties. As in a hotel, we would therefore kindly request that other drinks are not brought onboard.
ACTIVITIES ONBOARD
The pace of life is always relaxed. Whenever you feel the need to stir, the sea is always on hand for a wonderfully cooling dip, and in addition our gulets carry the following equipment onboard:
- Two windsurfers
- Two sea kayaks
- Fishing & snorkelling equipment (we recommend you also bring your own)
Tender With 50hp Outboard - Waterskiing & Ringos
Additionally, and most unusually, our gulets provide a tender with an outboard powerful enough to offer waterskiing and ringos. A small charge is made for this - payable locally.
Other water sport opportunities will arise as the week progresses, with the captain being able to meet up with various water sport schools along the way.
