Kalkan - Olympos - Kalkan (via Kekova, Olympos, Phaselis & Kas)
Route 4
This itinerary has a slightly more cultural flavour than the others and involves a couple of longer-than-average cruises in the week in order to reach the stunning Lycian sites of Olympos and Phaselis.
Saturday
Arrive and spend the first evening in Kalkan harbour.
Sunday
Leave kalkan in the morning to cruise past Kaputas beach towards the Kas region where lunch is served. Then travel to the picturesque region of Kekova, overnighting in either Karaloz or Gokkaya bays.
Monday
An early start for the long but scenically stunning cruise to the Phaselis and Olympos region. Breakfast will be served on the move, or in a deserted bay as the gulet heads towards the bays of Sakaz and Porto Ceneviz. Here there is time for swimming before lunch.
The afternoon is spent at the waterside ancient site of Phaselis. This wonderful site can be explored at leisure followed by a cooling swim from the sandy beach backed by pine trees that hide Phaselis from the sea. The evening is spent in Phaselis Bay.
Tuesday
Following breakfast at Phaselis the gulet cruises down the coast to the magnificent site of Olympos where much of the day is allowed for the enjoyment of the site. Lunch is taken in Sakaz or Porto Ceneviz Bays and the evening is spent in Adrasan Bay.
Wednesday
An early start for the cruise to the kekova region. Should the party have an interest it will be possible to visit the ancient sites of Myra and St. Nicholas Church. Alternatively a lazy afternoon can be spent swimming and relaxing following the cultural exertions of the previous days! The night is spent in Gokkaya Bay.
Thursday
The day will be spent in exploration of this stunning region visiting the simple village of Kale, climb to the castle-top at Uçagiz and cruise past the renowned sunken city of Kekova. The evening is spent in a peaceful bay.
Friday
The gulet meanders along the coast to Sicak for lunch. After which guests have plenty of time to explore the ancient site of Aperlae. This site lies literally on the edge of the sea and, should you get too hot whilst exploring this fascinating site – just jump in for a cooling swim!
After lunch the gulet cruises towards the harbour at Kas. Should the party wish to spend the night in Kas the gulet will stay in Limanagzi Bay until late afternoon and then moor in either Kas Harbour or Bucak Marina (the latter is a ten-minute walk from the harbour, but more peaceful).
Alternatively, should the party prefer to spend the evening in a peaceful bay, the gulet will come into the harbour in the afternoon to enable guests to visit kas market and explore the town, before spending the evening in Limanagzi Bay.
Saturday
Following breakfast cruise towards Kalkan stopping for swimming and lunch at Furnaz Bay. The week concludes in Kalkan harbour.
