From Bogazcik you walk to Kihch village and climb to Apollonia to explore the ruins there. You then descend over mule paths to the ancient waterside ruins of Aperlai. Day 3 – Sea Kayaking: Aperlai – Gökkaya

Following a full safety briefing and basic exercises to get used to the kayaks and steering there is a morning paddle to Degirmelik cove where there is a natural underwater spring, perfect for cooling down. Afterwards, on to Gökkaya where the night is spent in a wild camp.

The Telegraph: June 20 2009 - Wonders of a World Beneath - Alexandra Ferguson

"Alexandra Ferguson joins a kayak trip to explore the 2,000-year-old ruins of a sunken city off Turkey's Mediterranean coast. It is early morning and the village is stirring. In the waterfront taverns there is the scrape of wood on linoleum as tables are set, while out on pontoons, fishermen tend their nets. Haze lingers on the horizon. In the harbour, a solitary skiff put-puts between the yachts, breaking the glassy surface of the water."

The Sunday Times: March 22, 2009 - Where the road runs out

Thankfully, blissfully, it's true - there are still places that tarmac can't take you. Jeremy Lazell picks the places where only feet, pedals or paddles will do. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot . . . " That's the song the porters and guides who used to work on Nepal's Annapurna circuit will be humming this trekking season.
