Bördübet

The meandering river which winds through the spacious grounds delineates the various elements of the hotel as it travels through the reed beds.

In one direction, the river leads out along the peninsula to the private beach club and the vast expanse of azure blue sea. Wooden bridges cross the waters through the spacious grounds, dotted here and there with hidden hammocks and sun loungers under the trees.  In the other direction the river passes the beautiful hotel rooms and the large swimming pool.

Hidden away in a blissfully remote area between Marmaris and Datça, Bördübet has for many years had a reputation amongst Turkeys' professionals for being a wonderful place to unwind for those with busy lives - you are ensconced in the natural environment and it's impossible not to relax and feel recharged. Following the recent complete transformation of the rooms - we are delighted that these Turkish guests now share the hotel solely with Exclusive Escapes – making for a fascinating and diverse mix of clientele, all attracted by the most unusual setting of this extraordinary hotel.

A focal point of daily life is the beach club, located on its own island-like peninsula. With a restaurant and a wonderful sunset terrace, fine food and drink is always close to hand. On most evenings an elaborate buffet-style dinner is taken in the hotel’s main riverside restaurant and surrounding terraces, a delightful setting overlooking the river which is beautifully illuminated by nightfall.

If you simply wish to unwind, then the freshwater swimming pool is invitingly cool and you can enjoy a gentle massage in one of the grass huts scattered throughout the lush grounds.  For those who may feel a little more active there are a range of toys from water sports, mountain bikes and a games area.

Above all this beautiful enclave attracts an abundance of wildlife including turtles, red squirrels, kingfishers, freshwater fish and eels. The ambience makes for a romantic, peaceful retreat yet at the same time is well-suited to families looking for an unusual holiday experience.

Although Exclusive Escapes does not operate a special children's club, parents can relax in the knowledge that families are made very welcome.  Children will enjoy exploring the natural environment, the shallow waters of the Beach Club, the alfresco games area, while couples can always find a quiet corner for some undisturbed peace.  The owner Şebnem, and her team have created an easy-going atmosphere that makes guests feel at ease no matter what their party size or age range.

Indeed, the spacious grounds are such that that no matter what the time of year the property never appears to be full. The open spaces are wide and varied, and the opportunities to escape to separate enclaves abound. 

At other times when you wish to mix with fellow guests there are ample opportunities to socialise at the beach club, pool or bar.

Exclusive Escapes has taken 10 of the 36 elegant bedrooms which overlook the river and forest beyond, all of which have been completely refurbished and are now some of the finest in our entire programme.
