Yediburunlar Lighthouse

Trekking

Yediburunlar Lighthouse is a fabulous hideaway tucked away in the most secluded and dramatic of locations. The Lycian Way is renowned as one of the worlds most famous treks, and the Yediburunlar coastline provides its most breathtaking mountain scenery. The opportunity to explore on foot is provided with our compliments.

Complimentary Trekking

Monday, Wednesday and Friday (not Friday in July and August)

Guests are escorted on fabulous treks thrice weekly in May, June, September and October and twice weekly in the hotter months of July and August.

Sometimes these follow The Lycian Way and often even more remote trails which have been carefully researched by Leon over many years.

The treks are usually suitable for all fitness levels, unless that day’s party are keen for something more challenging in which case ‘hard’ treks are willingly provided. Leon will discuss Guests preference in advance and tailor the treks accordingly wherever possible.

The treks depart each morning, sometimes directly from the property and others following a short jeep ride. The morning’s trek is usually two to three hours, followed by lunch (paid locally) and perhaps (once in a week) swimming in some remote spot. As a rule, the hotter the weather the earlier the trek begins.

Private trekking of all levels can be arranged with Leon on other days of the week and paid for locally.

Waymarked Trails

In addition Leon has marked some special trails which guests will easily be able to follow themselves. These new waymarked treks - complete with GPS data waymarking and signposts - lead into the mountains and provide stunning sea and mountain scenery.

The sea – although all around – is not particularly easy to get to, though the deserted bays and azure waters provide considerable reward for your efforts when you do make it there! Local beaches can be reached on four differing marked trails. One hour 30 minutes down and a hard (but rewarding) two hours back.  Another new trail leads up to the Yediburunlar summit at 1130m, you can only imagine the views!

This selection of one, two and three-hour treks is suited to all fitness levels.
