We are often asked to recommend a Mediterranean harbour town to rival Kalkan and Kaş, yet in many years of repeated travelling have seldom come across a better location. Selimye, however, reminds us of Kalkan 30 years ago with its mainly Turkish visitors, attractive waterfront and characterful restaurants catering for those coming ashore to dine. 
Selimye has always been a haven for sleek sailing ships – from working fishing boats to stylish wooden gulets and exclusive yachts - which moor in the harbour throughout the summer. Until now there have been few high quality options for accommodating our guests here, and for some time Payam Evi villa has been our stand-alone offering. This is set to change with the introduction of the effortlessly stylish Badem Tatil Ev, a brand new boutique hotel with 12 tasteful rooms and suites, sublime service and elegant grounds just a 10-minute walk from the harbour. Set on the hillside, the hotel provides truly stunning panoramic views across the Bay of Selimye and beyond. Badem Tatil Ev is owned and managed by the well-travelled Gönül and Zeki, who have taken the best ideas from hotels they have visited and added everything they felt was missing. The result is a small, secluded and stylish Turkish retreat which invites guests into the heart of their family. They are ably assisted by the hospitable manager, Uğur and his friendly team selected from the local region, who ensure that couples and families alike are certain to receive the warmest of welcomes at Badem Tatil Ev.
