If you’re looking for something more than a bit different, something truly unique, then Salkim Evi may well be the villa for you. Firstly, there’s the location - it’s built literally into the mountainside, using the surrounding rock as a main feature. It would be hard to imagine somewhere more natural, surrounded as it is by forest, and with views across the mountainside and down to the fabulous sands of Patara in the far distance. Then there’s the property itself. The bedroom is incredible, and uses fabulous flowing fabrics and incorporates two walls of glass, one which looks out to sea, the other out over the pool. There’s a spacious terrace around the pool, which itself is flanked by the mountain, and provides stunning views across the valley below. Salkim Evi epitomises the idea of ‘inside-out’ living. The design works hard to incorporate all-natural materials such as stone and wood, which succeeds in making the villa feel very much part of its environment. In fact, it takes the concept of a remote Thai mountain lodge, and brings it to a new Turkish mountain setting. And here, it seems very much at home.
