Subject: my honeymoon at Villa Ela and Mavi Koy
We had a fantastic honeymoon in Kas and Kalkan. Exclusive Escapes' service was excellent and I really couldn't fault anything.
The private transfer made everything really easy and stress free. The outbound flight to Turkey was a little bit delayed so we arrived quite late at night, so having a driver to take us directly to Kas was great and made the journey seem quite short.
Both the villas were amazing. It was good that we went to Villa Ela in Kas first. We were really delighted with villa Ela and the location etc but we were quite blown away by Mavi Koy. I think if we'd been at Mavi Koy first we would have felt that we were down-grading at Villa Ela (which wouldn't be at all fair because Villa Ela is so lovely!)
I probably don't need to say much about Mavi Koy! It made us feel very special and it was the best villa we've stayed at in Europe. The location was magnificent. The interior design was 'interesting' but it's Tekin's home so you can see why it's been decorated like that! Tekin is very charming and makes you feel so welcome, he was there to show us around the villa when we first arrived which I thought was quite nice.
I could understand your hesitation about recommending Mavi Koy as a honeymoon villa because it's so big for a couple but we quickly got used to the space and it does make you feel quite grand (you want to feel special on your honeymoon). I also noticed that most guests that had signed the visitors book before us were also couples so I wouldn't see the size of the villa being a problem.
All the complimentary things like the gulet cruise and Turkish bath were another bonus, particularly the cruise which was a nice break and it was good to get a bit of sea breeze.
Once again, we want to say thanks for all that you did to organise our honeymoon. We had a fantastic holiday. Kalkan and Kas are lovely destinations and it's a great part of the country to visit - plenty of cultural things to do. Let's hope it doesn't get any more commercial.
